Oldest Jewish Americans Brunch

It’s going to be a celebration for the ages!

The 22nd annual Bessie Spector (Z”L) Oldest Jewish Americans Celebration will shine a spotlight on our Jewish community members aged 95 and over on Friday, May 5, 2023, at Adat Shalom Synagogue. The event, hosted by Jewish Senior Life, gives this special group the recognition they deserve for helping to build our wonderful metro Detroit Jewish community.

The theme this year is The Golden Age of Television and will feature memories and music from the earliest days of TV when a mix of pioneering shows, from “The Jack Benny Program” to “The Honeymooners” to “I Love Lucy,” began shaping and redefining TV, and American culture. The event, which is free to honorees and one guest each — with extra tickets available for purchase — will include brunch, entertainment, recognition of our older adults and a gift bag for each honoree.

Nominate your honorees!
All nominees aged 95 and older (by 12/31/2023) will be invited. Nominate honorees online, before March 17, here.

This special event is generously sponsored by the family of Bessie Spector and other community supporters. It is presented through a partnership with Jewish Senior Life, Jewish Family Service, The J -Detroit, the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit and Gesher Human Services
