This Month: Days of Memory and Meaning

Join us for a moving ceremony to honor the memory and legacy of the many Israelis who have fallen in combat or acts of terror. Led by youth from the Detroit Jewish community as well as past and present Shinshinim (emissaries from Israel), the entire community is invited to gather on behalf of the women and men who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend the freedom and security of our Jewish homeland.  Find all the events at on the Jlive Yoms Page.


Yom HaShoah Commemoration

Yom Hazikaron Program and a Performance of Knock Knock

This month, we’re featuring the upcoming event series: Days of Memory and Meaning. Yom is the Hebrew word for “day.” Every year at the end of the Hebrew month of Nisan and the beginning of Iyar, three special Yoms are observed. In Israel, these days are national holidays. Around the world, and in our Detroit Jewish community, they’re a way to commemorate our Jewish history and heritage and celebrate our unique connection to Israel.


Community-Wide Yom Ha’Atzmaut Party with The Holy Band
