The Fifth Annual Menorah in the D was one for the record books. 3,500 attendees filled Campus Martius Park/Cadillac Square in the heart of downtown Detroit on Sunday, December 6th to take part in the festivities and watch the lighting of a 26’ menorah built by the Detroit Design Center. And at a time when so much of what you see and hear seems to tell a story of a world encased in darkness, Menorah in the D was proof that there’s still so much light to celebrate.
Presented by The Shul Lubavitch in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit and Chabad of Greater Downtown Detroit, Menorah in the D welcomed the largest crowd to date with new attractions that included a rocket fiber zip line, a heated tent, beer garden, activities for kids of all ages organized by Federation’s JFamily, a kosher food court and more.
