Marion Freedman

At the Federation Women’s Philanthropy Annual Meeting in May, it was bittersweet to announce the establishment of the Marion Freedman Women’s Philanthropy Volunteer Award. Marion, who passed away this past September, served as a Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit professional for 20 years. She was the Director of Women’s Philanthropy from 2004 – 2008.

The Marion Freedman Volunteer Award is an annual opportunity to keep Marion’s spirit alive and honor her memory.

Debbie Levin

In Recognition of the Spirit and Exemplary Service of a Women’s Philanthropy Volunteer, the inaugural Marion Freedman award was presented to Debbie Levin. Deeply involved in Women’s Philanthropy for many years, Debbie currently serves as a Women’s Philanthropy campaign solicitor and Board Member.  She also devotes her time to other Federation and community activities.  It’s not her personality, she says, to stand on the sidelines.
