There are so many things to be thankful for – family, friends, macaroni and cheese … and knowing that children’s author and illustrator Todd Parr is coming to town!

Please sit back, relax and enjoy this video based on Todd’s book, The Thankful Book. You will see and hear from our friends from all around the community who are thankful for lots of things.

Todd Parr’s messages in all of his books are simple to understand and powerful for every age. From writing about it being okay to be different, to accepting who you are and who others are … to embracing family and friends, Todd takes every angle of life and tells kids that he’s proud of them, and that they are loved. He sees life through their eyes – knowing that life is amazing, fun and filled with unlimited potential.

His illustrations are vibrant, lively and they can’t help but make you smile. And lucky for us, Todd Parr is coming to town for the 64th Annual Jewish Book Fair at the Jewish Community Center in West Bloomfield.

Join the fun with Todd on Sunday, November 15, 2015 for three extraordinary events.

1:00 to 2:00 pm: A family event in The Berman Theater, followed by a “Todd inspired” hands-on activity in Shalom Street from 2:00 to 3:00 pm.

3:30 to 5:30 pm: Join educators from around the community for an hour with Todd to hear about his inspiration and creative process. At  4:30 pm, local pre-school experts will take on six of his books to uncover the Jewish values that they illuminate.

5:00 to 6:00 pm: Todd will meet with artistic children from around the community who will create their own “Todd inspired” self-portraits to take home.

Each event is $5 per person, plus a $2 processing fee. Visit The Berman online for reservations and join us for an unforgettable Todd Parr experience! Co-sponsored by Federation’s PJ Library and JFamily, the Jewish Community Center’s Shalom Street Museum, The Berman Center for the Performing Arts and the Sherril Berman Children’s Art Fund.
